The new Castlefield Primary School recently opened in East Kilbride and 13 Primary 6 pupils volunteered their time after school over 3 evenings to make this ceramic welcome sign.

There are 200 handmade tiles within the sign each carefully modelled in clay and painted.

The imagery includes the school badge in the centre surrounded by the pupils self portraits, Chinese animals of the zodiac and the four seasons.
