| Deepfired
are often commissioned to create artworks which are integral to, or
enhance a specific space or existing building. The functional, decorative,
narrative or conceptual aspect of each site specific artwork is explored
thoroughly through a period of research looking at local history and
geography, contemporary use of the site and local events. Community
involvement is often an essential ingredient to bring about change
in that particular environment.
Public
commissions are generally procured through a number of routes;
self initiated projects, application to an advertised commission
or residency or Deepfired may be invited by the client or artists'
agency to put forward a proposal for a commission.
