These sculptures were the outcome of a short residency in Forth Primary in North Lanarkshire.
Over the past century, Forth has been surrounded by heavy industry. Ironstone, limestone and coal were extracted from the land. As the demand for the raw materials dwindled the mines gradually closed down.
The
sculptures are about nature reclaiming back the land after the machinery has
all gone.
